After suffering a serious stroke in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas, near the tomb of one of the greatest spiritual figures of India, Ma Anandamayi, the "Mother of Joy", Orianne defies the medical prognosis which condemned her to give up high altitude, and pursues her dream of climbing Lhotse (8.516 m), the satellite summit of Everest and the 4th highest summit in the world. The only woman in her group, she embarks on a journey through the "death zone". Despite the chaotic progress of her expedition, on May 23, 2019, she found herself atop Lhotse, gazing before her at Everest, or Chomolungma, the Mother Goddess of the World.
In all simplicity, and in an authentic way, Orianne tells us straightforwardly about her daring, her victories and her doubts, and gives us the key stages that led her to the top of Lhotse. In particular, she draws striking and unusual parallels between the world of high mountains and other extreme environments, and that of business and international relations.
